The Project for Modernization of Public Transport in Belgrade (hereinafter referred to as "the Project") held its second seminar on November 24, 2022, in Belgrade with partial online participation (hybrid) under the title "Current Trends and Future Opportunities in Public Transport".

Members from public transportation organizations and operators from Belgium, Romania, Spain, and Germany, and public organizations and academic institutions related to public transportation in Serbia, participated in the seminar and gave presentations on contractual relationships and models between cities and public transportation operators for the public transport operation in their cities.

In the panel discussion held after the presentation session, participants had an active discussion about issues and future possibilities for improvement through the sharing of knowledge and experiences across countries and cities.

In facilitating this seminar, Mr. Predrag Lukić, Secretary of the Secretariat for Public Transport (SfPT) of Belgrade, Serbia, and Mr. Masahiro Ueki, Chief Representative of JICA Balkan Office, respectively gave opening and closing remarks. The seminar was closed on a high note with approximately seventy participants from public-transport-related organizations.

Given the success and turnout of this seminar, we will continue to hold public transportation seminars as a forum for sharing and disseminating information related to the Project and will translate the lessons and insights gained from these seminars into the improvement measures of public transportation in Belgrade.
