Handover ceremony on large-scale X-ray inspection equipment

On April 2nd 2010, the hand-over ceremony was held in Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh City. In the ceremony, the X-ray inspection equipment and facilities were handed over to Vietnam Customs based on the Japan Grand Aid Project.The objective of the project is to reinforce the customs functions of major ports, namely HCMC Port and Hai Phong Port, by providing security equipment, id est. container scanner, in order to strengthen counter-terrorism/anti-terrorism measures as well as to facilitate and secure the international trade supply chain. The X-ray inspection equipment and facilities in Cat Lai Port is completed on March 2010 and now in operation. And the construction of the X-ray inspection equipment and facilities in Hai Phong Port started on April 2010 and will be completed within one year.
