Activities of Japanese customs experts on X-ray image analysis

In October 2010, the Japanese short term experts from Japan Customs made technical transfer about X-ray image analysis at Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh City Customs. In addition to technical matter, the following information is provided by short term experts based on the experiences in Japan Customs; safety operation is most important and instruction in safety operation should be provided. To improve the analysis skill, customs officers open the cargo, check the real goods and understand the gap between real goods and scanned image. And it is also important to share such information to improve the analysis skill for all of team members.

From here on, the data base of detected image file will be compiled to make effective image analysis.

Noted
On April 2nd 2010, the X-ray inspection equipment and facilities which was installed at Cat Lai Port were handed over to Vietnam Customs as the Japan Grand Aid Project. It is the first X-ray inspection equipment in Vietnam.
