On-site survey to major local customs in South Vietnam

Project Working Group Members and JICA experts visited major local customs in South Vietnam from April 21st to 29th, 2011 to inspect the situation of providing and sharing information for traders. In Ho Chi Minh City Customs, mission members had a frank and lively exchange of views with customs officials and traders and found out that it is not easy for customs to meet the needs of variety of traders despite holding dialogues with traders, including Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC). Traders and customs brokers requested customs to simplify customs procedure including stable operation of e-customs and harmonization of customs procedure. On the basis of discussion with traders, Local Customs and General Department of Vietnam Customs will make every effort to accomplish their missions to tackle many issues in near future.
