Chief Advisor Departed for Japan

Mr. Goseki Kazuhiro, chief advisor of SUSFORM-NOW, had his last day in the project office on 4 June 2013. He had been serving as chief advisor for the project since mid 2010 as a seconded official from the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

Acknowledging his contribution to Dien Bien Province, on 31 May 2013, the provincial project management unit (PMU) presented him with a certificate of merits (Bang Khen) issued by the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) at the monthly meeting with the counterpart. The certificate was also issued for Mr. Tomoo Mochida, who had completed his task as team leader for the project's livelihoods development component (LDC) in March 2013.

After Mr. Goseki Chief left, Mr. Takahashi, currently serve as project coordinator of SUSFUROM-NOW, will lead the project. Three more new Japanese experts and additional local staff are expected to be installed in a next couple of months to prepare for the pilot implementation of REDD+ activities in Dien Bien Province.
