Participants from Dien Bien, a mountainous area with many ethnic minorities

On the second and the third day of the Workshop on management, the project officers explained about the project activities in detail and financial matters.

Most participants had no experiences to work with JICA project, so the questions and answers about financial matters became lively.

The each PMU had some group works such as making activity schedule and budget plan. On the third day, mainly secretaries and accountants of the provincial PMUs joined and had presentation on their plan of action and budget.

Depends on the experiences of Maternal and Child Health service, size of population, the plans in each province has it own characteristic.

All four provinces showed a strong wish to start training courses on how to use Maternal and Child Health handbook (MCHHB) to the medical staff as soon as possible, then start distributing the MCHHB to the pregnant women and mothers who has child under 1 years old. The only place to distribute the MCHHB is commune health center as it is the first point for pregnant women to registration for anternatal care and mother bringing their child to receive vaccination and child health care.

Project office well recognized that we should to have tight collaboration with each provincial PMU. Therefore, project office pulled out together to made a fresh resolve to come up to their expectations.
