Hanoi, 15 August 2015 - As this year is the turning milestone after two-year implementation, the Project has welcomed new Chief Advisor, Mrs. TAKASHIMA Kyoko and Project Coordinator, Mr. KAZUHIKO Kunimoto after the predecessor Chief Advisor Mr. DOI Masahiko and coordinator, Mrs. Miho ANDO both finished their two-year working terms in Vietnam. The both Chief Advisors have multiple experience and expertise working for the JICA projects, especially the one precedent to this Project (2005-2009) in Hoa Binh province. and it made them quite familiar with health and medical situation in Vietnam. Beside, Ms. TAKASHIMA was also engaged in JICA MHR Project which just completed in the end of July 2015.
After the arrival of the new Chief Advisor in the end of July, the both have paid a working visit to three target provinces, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Yen Bai for updating the current situation in each project site. The team has facilitated detailed and open discussion with PPMUs on the actual activity implemention, DOHA and referral activities, difficulties and recommendations etc.
On this occasion, the PPMUs of three provinces expressed their gratitude and appreciation on the support and cooperation as contributed so far by Mr. DOI, and the new Chief Advisor stated her expectation to continue receiving strong collaborations from each PPMU during the later half of the Project.
The Project, as taken over by new Japanese experts, will be focusing more on prioritizing the activity in each target province and make its best for achieving the Project outputs in the remaining period of the Project.
