National consultative workshop for finalizing draft DOHA circular

The consultative workshop for finalizing criteria, content, tasks and scope of assignment for DOHA activities in the healthcare service was co-organized by Medical Service Administration (MSA), the Ministry of Health and the Project on 8th July, 2016 in Thanh Hoa city. The workshop was commissioned to collect expertise comments from experts of health facilities in central and provincial level for finalization of the DOHA circular, which will become an important legal basis for DOHA activities in the field of healthcare services.

Over 300 participants from relevant departments of MOH, 37 central hospitals which are leading hospitals on DOHA, Departments of Health and Provincial General Hospitals from 63 provinces nationwide, were invited to participate in the workshop.

During the workshop, MSA presented the results of 5-year DOHA activities implementation and achievements. This was a good opportunity for central hospitals to share their experience and outcomes on DOHA activities as well as to figure out the characteristics and difficulties of DOHA implementation at provincial level. In addition, DOHA network, DOHA and referral activities in the 6 target provinces of the Project were shared by Ms. TAKASHIMA Kyoko, Chief Advisor of the Project.

Regarding to DOHA scope assignment, the participants were divided into 4 groups according to 4 main clinical fields. The articles of the draft circular were analyzed and commented actively by almost participant, and the participants' comments were summarized and presented by representative from each of group.

At the end, Mr. Cao Hung Thai, Vice Director of MSA made closing remark on the workshop contents and appreciated participation of the delegates with valuable contribution to develop DOHA circular. He also gave direction to relevant divisions on revising the draft circular in order to issue the official circular soon to make legal basis for health facilities on implementing DOHA activities effectively that helps to strengthening health care services.
