SPC organized seminars on court precedent in three cities, Can Tho, Da Nang and Ha Noi under cooperation with JICA. SPC has ever conducted a research on court precedent, and summarization, development and publication of court precedents was stipulated as one of the duties and powers of the Judicial Council of SPC by Law on Organization of People's Courts, which was approved last year. To that end, the Judicial Council passed "the Resolution on process for selecting, publishing and adopting court precedents." JICA Project invited Mr. MURAKAMI Keiichi, former chief judge of Tokyo High Court and Mr. YUKAWA Ryo, lecturer of ICD-MOJ Japan as short-term experts to the seminar, and they, in consort with long-term experts, gave lectures and exchanged opinions regarding the method and practice to ensure unified application of law. They also introduced the situation and practice of editing compilation book of court precedents in Japan. |
