On 23 September 2016, the fourth Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) of the Project was held at the headquarters of General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) in Hanoi. For GDVC, Mr. Vu Ngoc Anh, Deputy Director General, GDVC, and the members of Project Management Unit (PMU) participated in the meeting. For JICA, two senior representatives from Vietnam Office and all of three long-term experts assigned to the Project attended the meeting. And IT Assistance Mission, led by Mr. Fujishige, Director for the International Cooperation Division (Customs and Tariff Bureau, Ministry of Finance) and short-term experts from Japan who were on mission for activities of Output 1, also joined the meeting.

At the meeting, the participants from GDVC reported the project activities implemented so far and the plan of future actions, followed by supplementary comments from JICA participants. Also, the progress of the activities was reviewed using Project Monitoring Sheets based on the Project Design Matrix (PDM) and the Plan of Operation (PO) for the Project.

Regarding Output1, the participants discussed the ways to improve VNACCS and the future course of actions based on the study report whose contents was agreed by both Japan side and Vietnam side. The participants from GDVC expressed positive evaluation to VNACCS and Japan for the support until then, and wished continued cooperation from Japan for improvements of VNACCS. The participants agreed that improvement measures of VNACCS would be further considered as a result of the discussion.
