From 20 to 24 March 2017, the 5th Risk Management Mission was conducted in which two short-term experts from Japan Customs participated. In the first half of the Mission, a workshop on trend analysis was held in Lao Cai Province with the participation of more than 30 officials from Risk Management Department and Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department of General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), local customs department, and Vietnam Customs School. During the workshop, participants also discussed on the way to implement the input of the last mission by Japanese short-term experts into daily operations in Vietnam Customs.

In the latter half of the Mission, the long-term and short-term experts discussed with Risk Management Department of GDVC and Vietnam Customs School the improvement of training curriculum and materials based on the information and documents provided by Japan Customs. The activities to improve training curriculum and materials for risk management will continue in the course of actions in the project.
