From 31 July to 4 August 2017, short-term experts (IT Assistance Mission) from Japan visited Hanoi. At the headquarters of General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), they had a series of meetings with GDVC officials concerned, including those from Customs IT and Statistics Department and other related departments, in order to discuss the plan on activities and implementation schedule of the project, modification of software, improvement of security for the current system infrastructure, and specific requirements for the hardware renewal of VNACCS.

In addition, from 23 to 25 August, short term experts visited GDVC, and further discussion concerning the improvement of security for current system infrastructure and specific requirements for the hardware renewal of VNACCS was held. Then, some of the short-term experts provided technical assistance to GDVC's works to improve security of the current VNACCS environment based on the result of the mission during the system maintenance on 27 August.

These activities are the 11th and 12th missions of short-term experts for achieving Output 1 of the Project, "Identification of a direction of future course of action for enhancing the utilization of VNACCS". The continuous consideration will be conducted, on the basis of the result of the discussion during the mission.
