7th Short-term Experts Mission for Risk Management

From 28 August to 1 September 2017, the 7th Risk Management Mission was conducted in which two short-term experts from Japan Customs participated. On the 7th to 9th Mission, in order to further realize the activity 3.4 "Conduct training for customs officials in RM" of Output 3 of the Project, training in which Vietnam Customs officials become lecturers has been planned.

In this Mission, a workshop was held in Thanh Hoa Province as the first round, and lectures, group discussion, etc. were conducted by General Department of Vietnam Customs (hereafter "GDVC") official lecturers in the field of information collection/analysis, selectivity criteria and trader management. Additionally, case study on information collection and selectivity criteria was conducted by the short-term experts from Japan. In this training, some 60 officials newly assigned to risk management area from GDVC and 10 Local Customs Departments in northern part of Vietnam participated in total.

On the last day of the Mission, the Japanese experts gave some advises about training skills and materials. In addition, Japan and Vietnam sides discussed activity of the next Mission, objectively verifiable indicators of the project, and some issues of Vietnam side.

In the next Mission, training by Vietnam Customs official lecturers will be held in the middle of Vietnam in a similar way as this Mission.
