16th Short-term experts Mission for Enhancing Utilization of VNACCS

From 14 to 22 December 2017, short-term experts (IT Assistance Mission) from Japan visited Hanoi. They had a series of meetings with General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) officials concerned, including those from Customs IT and Statistics Department, Risk Management Department, Customs Supervision and Control Department, and other related departments, in order to discuss necessary cost and specific requirements for the hardware renewal of VNACCS, improvement of security for the current system infrastructure, and cargo control in Vietnam, including exchanging views for technical assistance in the future.

Particularly, concerning the hardware renewal of VNACCS, the cost estimation material has been finalized according to the discussion at IT Assistance Mission, and JICA submitted the material to GDVC. GDVC is going to enter budgetary process for hardware renewal based on the material from JICA.

In addition, between 29 November and 27 December, the 2nd technical transfer session about the modification of VNACCS software was carried out by OJT (On-the-Job Training) style, the same style as the previous training. Through the works of broader scope of software modification than that of the last training, practical skill and knowledge were transferred to trainees from GDVC.

These activities are the 16th missions of short-term experts for achieving Output 1 of the Project, "Identification of a direction of future course of action for enhancing the utilization of VNACCS". The continuous consideration will be conducted, on the basis of the result of the discussion during the mission.
