From 13 to 19 May 2018, 10 officials of Vietnam Customs participated in the training in Japan entitled "Workshop on Strengthening the Capacity of Risk Management for Vietnam Customs". The participants visited Tokyo Customs and Osaka Customs where they received lectures on the operations of risk management including selectivity criteria and trader management in Japan Customs, and also well understood trainings relating to risk management to enhance capacity of officials of Japan Customs.

This training was conducted based on interests of Vietnam Customs for Output 3 of the Project, "The capacity of customs officials on risk management is strengthened". Taking advantage of what participants learned through this training and the input by JICA experts so far, Vietnam Customs will consider improvement of the operations of risk management as well as training course and training materials.
