The Project Kickoff Ceremony was held at the auditorium of Cho Ray Hospital on April 21.

The ceremony was conducted to announce the start of the Project to the people related to the hospital at the time when the first three months of the Project had passed.

About 180 people including executive members, as well as chief doctors and head nurses of each department in Cho Ray Hospital attended the ceremony.

Dr. Nguyen Truong Son, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, made a presentation about the framework of the future cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan. Dr. Koji Wada, Chief Adviser of the Project, explained the outline of the Project. Mr. Jun Moriyama, Expert of Patient Safety, and Ms. Hitomi Kurosu, Expert of Infection Control, also introduced the collaboration plan in each area respectively during the ceremony.

Dr. Tran Thi Giang Huong, the Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Health, Mr. Junichi Kawaue, the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, Nozomi Iwama, the Senior Representative of JICA Viet Nam Office, and Dr. Yoshio Namba, the Executive Director of the Bureau of Strategic Planning, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Japan (NCGM) respectively made a congratulatory speech as honored guests.

The ceremony made the experts of Japan and the counterparts of Cho Ray Hospital become strongly aware of the great interest and high expectations from people inside and outside the hospital and from those who were concerned both in Japanese and Vietnamese side.
