Overall Goal (Tentative)

Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital are operated with hospital management at international level, to provide advanced medical services and, to contribute better health care for the people in southern Viet Nam, with better coordination among related hospitals.

Purpose of the Project (Tentative)

Capacity of Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital is strengthened to provide patient oriented and quality medical services.

Outcomes of the Project (Tentative)

  1. Patient-oriented and high quality medical care services in Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital are enhanced by operating Patient Safety, Multi-professional and Clinical pathway effectively while enhancing internal cross sectional activities in the hospitals.
  2. Measures for infection control are strengthened at international level in Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital.
  3. Capacity of Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital to strengthen functions of affiliated hospitals is enhanced.

Project Activities

1 Output1:Patient-oriented and high quality medical care services are enhanced in Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital by operating Patient Safety, Multi-professional and Clinical pathway effectively while enhancing internal cross sectional activities in the hospitals. 
1-1 Strengthening the Patient Safety Measures
1-1-1 To assess current situation regarding patient safety (included incident report system and capacity on it).
1-1-2 To develop plans to enhance activities regarding patient safety.
1-1-3 To conduct necessary trainings based on the plan in 1-1-2.
1-1-4 To conduct monitoring based on the plan in 1-1-2.
1-2 Introduction of Multi professional team approach
1-2-1 To develop plans to improve multi professional team approach by various doctors.
1-2-2 To assess workload and roles of co-medical staffs, such as nurses or pharmacists .
1-2-3 To develop plans to involve co-medical staff into the multi professional team approach.
1-2-4 To conduct training on the multi professional team approach for co-medical staff based on 1-2-3. 
1-3 Improvement of compliance of Clinical pathways utilization
1-3-1 To assess current situation regarding the utilization of clinical pathways.
1-3-2 To develop plans to improve quality and compliance of clinical pathways.
1-3-3 To conduct necessary trainings based on the plan in 1-3-2.
1-3-4 To conduct monitoring based on the plan in 1-3-2.
2 Output2:Measures for infection control are strengthened in Cho Ray Hospital and Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospital.
2-1 Strengthening the system on Nosocomial infections measures
2-1-1 To assess current situation regarding nosocomial infections, including assessment of environmental conditions in the hospital. 
2-1-2 To develop plans to decrease numbers of nosocomial infections in the hospital.
2-1-3 To conduct necessary trainings, including treatment of nosocomial infections, based on the plan in 2-1-2.
2-1-4 To conduct monitoring based on the plan in 2-1-2.
2-1-5 To develop a plan to introduce genemic typying testing to cope with outbreak of nosocomial infections and implement it
2-2 Enhancement of Infection prevention control measures
2-2-1 To assess current activities for infection prevention control measures conducted by the Department of Infection Control Disease, Infection Control Committee, and Infection Control Link in the hospital .
2-2-2 To develop plans to enhance activities for infection control and the adequate uses of antibiotics.
2-2-3 To conduct necessary trainings and operational research based on the plan in 2-2-2.
2-2-4 To conduct monitoring and evaluation of the activities for infection control and the adequate uses of antibiotics based on the plan in 2-2-2.
2-3 Enhancement of Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) measures
2-3-1 To assess current situation regarding the surveillance system  on AMR and antibiotics uses. 
2-3-2 To develop plans to introduce genomic typing testing to  the system of  AMR surveillance based on the result of 2-3-1.
2-3-3 To conduct necessary trainings and operational research of the surveillance system and antibiotics uses based on the plan in 2-3-2.
2-3-4 To conduct monitoring and evaluation on utilization of the surveillance system and antibiotics uses based on the plan in 2-3-2.
3 Output 3:Capacity of Cho Ray and  Cho Ray Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Hospitals to strengthen functions of affiliated hospitals is enhanced.
3-1 Strengthening capacity building for DOHA clinical & skill lab training for affiliated hospital
3-1-1 To assess situation on the curriculum of DOHA clinical and skill lab training to affiliated hospital.
3-1-2 To develop plans to enhance activities  based on the result of 3-1-1.
3-1-3 To conduct necessary materials updates and trainings based on the plan in 3-1-2.
3-1-4 To conduct monitoring and evaluation on the plan in 3-1-2.
3-2 Strengthening capacity building for quality medical services training (referral and counter-referral)
3-2-1 To assess current situation on quality medical services training to affiliated hospital.
3-2-2 To develop plans to enhance activities  based on the result of 3-2-1.
3-2-3 To conduct necessary materials updates and trainings based on the plan in 3-2-2.
3-2-4  To conduct monitoring and evaluation on the plan in 3-2-2.

  2. Custom exemption procedure for machinery and equipment to be provided by JICA;
