The JICA-NIHE Phase 3 project was started

This project promotes Vietnam and surrounding countries can appropriately control infectious diseases including highly hazardous pathogens. To conduct the promotion, the project selected model provinces in Vietnam to strengthen the laboratory capacities for infectious pathogens diagnosis by training course, support to set up BSL-3 laboratories and laboratory network.

The project title is "Project for Capacity Development for Medical Laboratory Network on Biosafety and Examination of Highly Hazardous Infectious Pathogens in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia". The term of the project is planned for 5 years and started from July 27th, 2017. The project office is located in National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) which is counter part of the project. JICA and NIHE conducted Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects from 2006 to 2016. So, the title of this project is abbreviated as JICA-NIHE Phase 3 Project.
