The 12th APBA(Asia Pacific Biosafety Association)conference was held under NIHE in Ho Chi Minh City during Aug 22-25, 2017. This is an international conference related to biosafety and biosecurity, which is annually held in one of Asian countries. Total number of participants was more than 120. From JICA-NIHE Phase 3 Project, Dr. Kai - Chief advisor, Dr. Shinohara and Dr. Miki - Biosafety experts attended. From NIHE which has BSL-3 laboratories constructed by JICA support, Prof. Duc Anh and Dr. Thuy, et al. attended. Dr. Thuy who is the chief manager of BSL-3 in NIHE presented the situation of BSL-3 laboratories in NIHE. The strict criterion for the certification of BSL-3 laboratory by NSF (National Science Foundation) is considering to be relaxed according to real situation of Asian countries.
