Training courses on Biosafety and External Quality Assessment (EQA) in Japan (May 28, 2018 to June 22, 2018)

The first Project training course in Japan was conducted in cooperation with the division of international cooperation in National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) (Dr. Kumagai) from May 28 to June 22, 2018. The training course was divided into two courses. Two staffs of PIHCMC participated in Biosafety training course and two staffs of National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) participated in EQA course. Training course on Biosafety was managed by the department of Biosafety in NIID (Drs. Tanabayashi, Shinohara, Kawai and Harada) while EQA course was managed by the committee of EQA in NIID (Dr. Miyazaki, Ms. Fukuda and Ms. Sato). Many kind of activities were conducted in mainly NIID and other organizations outside of NIID in Japan such as Food and Drug Safety Center (FDSC), Kanagawa Prefectural Institute of Public Health, Yokohama Quarantine Station, Hokkaido Univ., Osaka Univ., the Research Institute of Tuberculosis (RIT), Suga Co., LTD., Ikari Shodoku Co., LTD. and Airtech Japan LTD. The schedule was a little bit tight but trainees looked very satisfied.
