The third meeting of the Japan-Viet Nam ICT Joint Working Group, held regularly between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in Japan and the Ministry of Information and Communications in Viet Nam (MIC in Viet Nam), was held on November 29th in the MIC in Viet Nam in Hanoi. From the Vietnam side, the Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the MIC in Viet Nam, the Authority of Information Security (AIS, Project Counterpart), and the Director General of the Global Strategy Bureau and the Director of the Global ICT Business Promotion Office from the Japanese side participated. The topic of the working group was the future cooperation between Japan and Viet Nam in cybersecurity, 5G, and smart city. JICA Expert Yamazaki participated from the project and reported on the progress of the project currently underway. As a result of the working group, it was confirmed that this project would strengthen cooperation between the two countries regarding human resource development in the cybersecurity field.
