Training to master virtual machines (VMWare)

During the week of November 30 and the week of December 21 2020, a total of 10 days of training on VMWare, "VMWare Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization 2020", was conducted for 5 people in charge of IT infrastructure at AIS.

VMWare is an American company that has the world's largest market share in cloud computing and virtual machines[1], and is the name of its virtual machine product. All of AIS's IT infrastructure is virtualized, and the purpose of this training is to learn the technology and know-how to master virtual machines.

The training was divided into two parts, each of which covered techniques for building, configuring, managing, optimizing and scaling the machines.

  • First 5 days: VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage
  • Second 5 days: VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage

By using virtual machines efficiently and effectively with the knowledge and skills gained from this training, AIS will be able to improve the performance of its IT infrastructure and support all of its business operations in a stable manner.

Note

  • [1] A virtual machine is a virtual computer that is configured by software on physical hardware. Usually, the PC we use contains only one OS such as Windows, and all the work is done on that OS. With a virtual machine, for example, you can build a virtual computer running another OS on top of that OS. When a virtual machine is installed on a server, it is possible to run multiple servers (OSs) independently on a single physical server device. This not only maximizes the resources of the physical server, but also makes it more efficient in terms of server management, as there is less hardware to manage.
