3rd Joint Coordination Committee (JCC)

The 3rd Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) Meeting was held online on September 15, 2021. The Vice-Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the Authority of Information Security (AIS), and the Department of International Cooperation from Viet Nam, and the members of the Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam, JICA HQs, JICA Viet Nam Office, and project experts from Japan participated in.

The JCC was supposed to be chaired by Mr. Nguyễn Huy Dũng, Vice-Minister of MIC, however due to an emergency meeting on Covid-19 countermeasures, he could only make an opening speech. Mr. Hoàng Minh Tiến, Deputy Director General of AIS, chaired the meeting on behalf of MIC after the Vice-Minister left the meeting.

In the meeting, both AIS and JICA experts explained the progress and achievements to date and future plans toward the end of the project. In addition, AIS shared the objectives, expected contents, and status of the procedures for the request of the Phase 2 of this project. After the presentation, all the participants from Japan and Viet Nam commented on various aspects of the project under the chairmanship of the Deputy Director General of AIS.

To sum up, the project achievements to date are the result of a trusting relationship between AIS and JICA experts, and the solution of various issues on the project with the flexible response of AIS. Another factor that contributed to the success of the project was the recognition of the importance of cybersecurity by the Embassy of Japan and JICA, as well as their logistical support. The meeting ended with the confirmation that the stakeholders concerned in both countries will continue to work together to complete the project so that all plans can be completed in a short period of time before the end of the project amid the Covid-19 Epidemic.
