Starting cooperation for "Strategic Leaders Training" in Vietnam

Strategic Leaders Training (SLT, or "Lop Chien Luoc" in short in Vietnamese) is being conducted at Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) in Hanoi from 2019 to 2020.
The training targets candidates for the Central Party Committee of the next 13th National Party Congress (2021-2025) scheduled at the beginning of 2021.

SLT is conducted with the aim of fostering future leaders to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, and to demonstrate leadership in solving economic, political, social and environmental issues.

Through the project, Japan side cooperates through dispatching Japanese lectures to SLT conducted in Vietnam and by inviting selected participants of SLT to Japan.
In September 2019, a lecture on "Environmental Policy" was provided by Hideki Minamikawa , President of the Japan Environmental Sanitation Center (former Vice-Minister of Environment).
He explained the challenges and responses during the high-growth period in Japan, and exchanged opinions with participants on the challenges in Vietnam and possible countermeasures.
President Minamikawa emphasized the reality of most vulnerable groups becoming the affected population of environmental pollution, and the importance of information disclosure to the public.
