The 1st Training for Strategic Leaders Training in Japan

The 1st Training for Strategic Leaders Training (SLT) in Japan was organized from 8 to 18 December, 2019.

The project activities for SLT consist of dispatching Japanese lectures to the training conducted at Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) in Vietnam and organizing subsequent training in Japan. The purpose of this training is to deepen the understanding of the topics (civil servant system, environmental policy) taken up in the training in Vietnam through exchange of opinions and site visits in the training in Japan. In addition, the training incorporates programs to deepen understanding of Japanese cultural, social and economic conditions and to strengthen the network between Vietnam and Japan.

The Vice President of HCMA served as the group leader, and a total of 20 people participated in this training. The participants consisted of 16 Vice Minister level officials and 3 Director General level officials, belonging to the Party, assembly, and governmental organizations.

Participants in the training shared comments such as the below:
"Pollution is a serious problem in Vietnam, so we want to aim for sustainable economic development"
"Experiences of Yokkaichi City and Kawasaki City overcoming pollution were very helpful."
