From late December 2021 to early January 2022, the Project organized the SFM (Sustainable Forest Management) Planning training workshop at Hoa Binh, Son La, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang Provinces. Due to the pandemic, the workshop in Son La was held online.

The Project has already selected the target forest owners in each Province, and the training workshop was designed for the capacity building of the selected forest owners in terms of SFM Planning.

The Project has conducted the capacity needs assessment of the forest owners and the related forestry departments beforehand, and the training workshop was designed to meet their needs. The Project tried to organize face-to-face workshops as much as possible, considering the effectiveness.

During the workshop, the participants had Q&A sessions and exchanged their views. Specifically, it was impressive to have many questions and views on the promotion of SFM and how to coordinate the residents in the area.

After 2022, the Project is planning to finalize the SFM Planning and its implementation in these Provinces.
