The field survey in Hoa Binh Province has started.

The flora survey, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 in the last fiscal year, in the planted forest in Hoa Binh Province has been started. The target area is about 92 hectares, and the main species is acacia mangium, a fast-growing tree. Fast-growing trees can be harvested in 5 to 10 years. In this region, acacia mangium is planted to be mainly used for plywood.

The survey was conducted based on the information gathered beforehand, but some issues were reported. For example, the forest, which was considered a one-year planting, was actually three years. Also, it was reported that in the planted forest, there were a variety of herbs for medicine.

The sustainable forest management plan in Hoa Binh Province will be developed based on the flora survey above and the surveys for fauna and forest inventory, and other considerations such as finance, the opinion of the households, infrastructure in the region etc.
