Project News

The SNRM2 Project supports the development of Sustainable Forest Management Plans (SFMPs) in the target 4 provinces and their implementation. The activities so far have been released in the past Project News. The development of the SFMPs supported by the Project had been completed in Tuyen Quang Province and Son La Province, and the plans were approved by the Provincial People's Committee in each province respectively.

It took 2 to 3 months from the submission of the plans to their approval. In Son La Province, the first approved SFMP will be implemented by a semipublic organization, and this experience in the approval process will be utilized in future.

In Tuyen Quang Province, based on the approved plan, the Project is currently supporting the development of a nursery for the Tan Trao Special Use Forest Management Committee. Installment of fences to avoid animals and equipment for irrigation is in process, and seeding is planned in November.
