On 12 May 2023, the forest owner (FO) group in Hoa Binh (HB), which is getting support from the SNRM2 Project, visited Tuyen Quang (TQ) Province for a study tour on forest certification. The FO group in HB is aiming to get forest certification in future. Thus, they visited there with the aim of learning about the experience in TQ, where they have an advanced background in forest certification.

The 22 FOs from HB Province participated in the study tour. The T Forestry Cooperative, which got the certification in TQ Province, explained the organization of forestry cooperative and their experience in forest certification.

The T Forestry Cooperative is a large-scale forestry cooperative that manages over 100,000 hectares of certified forests in eight Provinces in Viet Nam. The participants expressed the opinion that their groups are small and lack human resources, so they can be under the umbrella of the T Forestry Cooperative. Currently, T Forestry Cooperative is considering expanding the area of its activities to HB Province. They responded that they could consider cooperating. The FO group also observed the certified forests.

This project will continue to support the further organization of FO groups in HB Province and the matching with potential buyers.
