Conducted training on patent examination practices related to telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology

On July 11, 12, 14, 15, 20, and 21, we conducted a training course on patent examination practices related to telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology via online in collaboration with the Japan Patent Office (JPO).

Twenty-three patent examiners from IP Viet nam (Intellectual Property Office of Viet nam) participated in this training program.
The purpose of this training was to deepen the understanding of patent search methods and decision points specific to each technical fields, targeting the technical fields requested by IP Viet nam.
During the training, JPO examiners in each field gave lectures using model cases, and discussions were held on the judgment of those cases. In addition, assignments related to the lectures were assigned.

In a questionnaire after the training, participants commented, "The lecturer explained well and very in detail. I have learned a lot of things." " The instructor was kind and enthusiastic."

In this project, we will continue to work with JPO to improve the examination skills of IP Viet nam examiners by providing training that meets the needs of IP Viet nam.
