TRAHUD Traffic Safety Seminar

The first TRAHUD Traffic Safety Seminar was held on Feb. 1 and 2, 2007. More than 100 participants joined the two day seminar; they are from various central bodies and Hanoi authorities, as well as international donors. Objectives of the seminar are to promote understanding of TRAHUD project and to present Japanese and Vietnamese experience in curbing traffic accidents in order to support HPC implement the effective traffic safety countermeasures. JICA short term experts from Japan National Police Agency and Traffic Safety Education Institute and Tokyo Metropolitan Government shared Japanese experience on traffic control and enforcement. Speakers from the counterpart team discussed about current traffic safety issues and efforts tackling serious traffic problems in Hanoi.

The Seminar opened a forum for sharing of the information on traffic safety among the agencies and organizations, and also promoted cooperation among the like-minded donors on the field.

TRAHUD Traffic Safety Seminar will be held twice a year and the seminar topics will basically focus on the followings;
(1)Progress of the TRAHUD project and its related information
(2)Introduction of the traffic safety improvement efforts in Japan and other countries
(3)Reports of the capacity development pilot projects by the counterparts
(4)Monitoring and Evaluation
(5)Dissemination and Propaganda, publicity campaigns, etc.
