Traffic Safety Seminar for Public Relation Officers in Districts and Wards

TRAHUD conducted a seminar on “Traffic Safety Education and Public Relations in Japan” with an aim to increase the awareness of public relation officers at the level of district and ward of the city on importance and technique of traffic safety education and public relations. The seminar was held on 17 August 2007 at Hanoi Ideology and Culture Department and participated by about 150 persons including public relation officers of the districts and wards of the city, staff of educational affairs section of universities, editors of newspapers (excluding the participants of the seminar on 9 August 2007), etc. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Ban, Vice Director of Ideology and Culture Department, and lectured by Mr. Hoshi, TRAHUD Expert in Traffic Safety Education and Public Relations. Besides, Prof. Hang, Chairman of Education and Public Relation Sub-committee of Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee and Dr. Loi, Vice Director of TUPWS attended in the seminar as the special guests.

The seminar covered the following contents:
1) Transition of Traffic Accidents and its Measures in Japan
2) Actual Practices of Traffic Safety Education and Public Relations in Japan
3) Introduction of the Educational Technique of “Participation-Experience-Practice”

In the open forum, questions from the participants focused on ”measures to increase people’s awareness for decreasing accident fatalities by half” and “educational technique” in Japan. The seminar contributed to the participant’s understanding on the importance of public relations and education on traffic safety. TRAHUD learned that this activity should be continued and expanded to a wide range of people and contents should be intensified.
