Emergency Assistance to North of Afghanistan in Response to the Flood  -Handover of Emergency Relief Goods-

Emergency relief goods provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in response to the flood in northern Afghanistan have been handed over to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The goods provided to Afghanistan arrived in Kabul on 18th May. The handover ceremony was held at the Embassy of Japan on 20th May at 09:00 (local time), attended by Mr. Takuya Tanimoto, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Vinko Lazarevski, Acting Programme and Operations Manager of IFRC.

Sleeping pads, blankets, portable jerry cans, water purifiers, plastic sheets and tents handed over this time will be delivered to the flood-affected population by IFRC and the Afghan Red Crescent Society.
