JICA President Tanaka Met with President Rahmon of Tajikistan

On December 19, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tokyo.
At the outset, President Emomali Rahmon expressed his pleasure to be meeting again with President Tanaka after an interval of two years and expressed his gratitude for JICA's continued cooperation in Tajikistan.
In response, President Tanaka expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome during his visit to Tajikistan two years ago and mentioned that, taking this “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue (CA+JAD) Summit as an opportunity, he hopes to further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two countries and promote even greater collaboration.
Both parties further exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the wide range of areas, such as the green economy and improving regional connectivity including cooperation that leverages Tajikistan’s potential as well as human resource development and the promotion of the private sector.
