Signing of a Record of Discussions on a Technical Cooperation Project with the Republic of Indonesia: Contributing to the achievement of the SDGs

[Goal 17] Partnerships for the Goals
SDGs

2023.08.21

On August 14, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta for the Project for Strengthening Framework of Implementation of SDGs of the Subnational Governments, a technical cooperation project.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are goals that should be pursued by the entire international community, and Indonesia is an example of a country making a national effort to do that. However, as the world's largest archipelagic state, with a vast land area and comprising more than 17,000 islands, it is essential for Indonesia to strengthen its capacity to address, local challenges, as well as to involve non-state actors, especially local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in its pursuit of the SDGs.
