On October 16, Dr. Le Huu Nghia, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (HCMA) of Vietnam and member of the Communist Party Central Committee, along with eight representatives of the Academy, visited JICA-RI. Keiichi Tsunekawa, JICA-RI Director, met with the delegates to share information on the organizational systems and activities of JICA-RI and HCMA

HCMA provides practical training for the executives of the Vietnamese Communist Party and government. It also offers policy recommendations to the Party as a think-tank. JICA has supported HCMA through technical cooperation including the "Project for Enhancement of Capabilities of Government Officials for Administrative Reform" (2004-2007).
