BAPPENAS Delegation Visits JICA Ogata Research Institute for Discussions on Establishing a New Research Institute

On Nov. 11, 2025, a delegation from Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), led by Taufik Hanafi, Chief Planner Deputy for Development Control, Evaluation, and Risk Management, visited the JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (JICA Ogata Research Institute). The visit aimed to gather information and exchange views in preparation for establishing a new research institute.

As part of its plan to establish a new research institute, BAPPENAS visited to gain insights into the JICA Ogata Research Institute’s operations, research programs, and partnerships. In addition to touring the institute’s facilities, the delegation engaged in dialogue with the institute staff to deepen their understanding of research activities, dissemination of research findings, and approaches to feeding research back into policy.

Through these exchanges, both sides shared positive views on potential future collaboration. Building on the existing operation-based cooperation between BAPPENAS and JICA, this visit is expected to pave the way for stronger collaboration in research.

JICA Ogata Research Institute will continue to strengthen partnerships with research institutions in Japan and abroad, aiming to become a global hub for leading research on development and international cooperation.
