JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (JICA Ogata Research Institute) has released a video titled “Interview | Young Lives in Kenyan Slums: Poverty, Discrimination, Injustice.”

JICA Ogata Research Institute conducts socio-legal qualitative research on the lives of young people living in Nairobi’s slums. This interview video features Yuko Shem Okoth, CEO of Grassroots Walkers, who himself grew up in a slum. Through his personal reflections and experiences, the video sheds light on the everyday realities of poverty, injustice and discrimination faced by youth in slums, while highlighting the significance of the Institute’s ongoing research.
