In November 2022, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Mongolia, the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the JICA Mongolia Office, and the 30th anniversary of the Overseas Volunteers Program, a special commemorative lecture titled " Post-Cold War Japan" by JICA President Akihiko Tanaka was held in the National University of Mongolia.

In his lecture, JICA President Tanaka explained Japan's post-Cold War history from the perspectives of politics, security, investment environment, and international cooperation, and introduced Japan's efforts and challenges during a period of economic stagnation. The participants asked questions about Japan's security issues with neighboring countries in East Asia, Japan's response to the unstable global economic situation, and Japan's policies for accepting foreign workers.

The special lecture provided an opportunity to promote understanding of Japan in Mongolia and to further increase interest in the country, and the event was a great success.
