Emergency Assistance to Tuvalu in Response to the Drought

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the severe drought Disaster, upon the request from the Government of Tuvalu.

1. Disaster situation
Drought since the beginning of this year has caused severe water shortage. According to the Government of Tuvalu, the damage situation as of August 29th was as follows:
Affected 7,564 people

2. Goods to be supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Water purifiers
Water Storage Tank(3700L)

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Funafuti International Airport via Australia on the next available flight in cooperation with the government of Australia.
