Name Change Announcement

2020.04.21

On April 1, 2020, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Research Institute changed its name to the JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (abbreviated: JICA Ogata Research Institute).

The COVID-19 outbreak is posing an unprecedented challenge all over the world. Following the establishment of the JICA Research Institute by the late Ogata Sadako to conduct policy-oriented research on the challenges faced by developing countries, the JICA Ogata Research Institute is determined to contribute to peace and development, taking account of such issues and threats in today’s globalized world.

Upon the change in the name of the Institute, the following web pages have been updated: “Message from the Director,” “Our Vision and Basic Policy,” and “Overview and History.” In addition, the name of the research cluster “Peace and Development” has also been changed, to “Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Support.”
