2021.05.24

In April 2021, the paper entitled “How Can Developing Countries Achieve Sustainable Development: Implications From the Inclusive Wealth Index of ASEAN Countries,” written by Research Fellow Endo Kei of the JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development and Assistant Professor Ikeda Shinya of Ibaraki University, was published online in the International Journal of Sustainable Development & World Ecology.

Studies that observe the ways in which countries achieve sustainable development using comprehensive approaches are scarce. Thus, this study adopted the Inclusive Wealth Index (IWI), which comprehensively evaluates the values of produced and natural and human capital that contribute to the sustainable development of nations. It examined whether developing countries in the ASEAN region developed in a sustainable manner during the period from 1990 to 2014.
