JICA Ogata Research Institute’s Muto Gives Presentation on the Concept of Human Security in Video Session 'Takatof: United We Stand'

Muto Ako, an executive senior research fellow at the JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (JICA Ogata Research Institute), gave a commentary in one video session of a series entitled “Takatof: United We Stand,” which was released in September 2021.

In 2020, the United Nations Development Programme launched the series in partnership with the Centre for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan. The JICA Ogata Research Institute and the JICA Jordan Office provided support to this series of video sessions designed to promote social cohesion and active citizenship amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Muto provided a brief presentation on the concept, policy, and approach of human security, which lies at the core of JICA’s mission and which she has pursued in her research over the years. Miyahara Chie, the chief representative of the JICA Jordan Office, also made an appearance in the video to introduce several initiatives promoted by JICA in Jordan.
