Vice President of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Visits JICA

On April 1, Vice President Wang Zhen and delegates of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences visited JICA Headquarters to exchange opinions with JICA-RI Deputy Director Naohiro Kitano and a specialist from East and Central Asia and the Caucasus Department of JICA.

The Academy is a leading think-tank with 17 institutes under Shanghai municipality. It specializes in the fields of the humanities and social sciences. Since the launch of its global strategy last year, the Academy has been focusing on enhancing interaction and cooperation with overseas think-tanks. This visit aimed to deepen the relationship with Japanese research and educational organizations, such as JICA-RI.

Dr. Zhen expressed his appreciation for JICA’s assistance for three researchers from the Academy as long-term Japanese graduate and his eagerness to promote academic and research exchanges on a variety of topics including aging society, environment, and poverty.
