JICA-RI Director Kato Appointed as a Member of an Expert Group for the GDN Annual Conference

The Global Development Network (GDN) plans to hold its 15th annual conference in Accra, Ghana, in June 2014. JICA-RI Director Hiroshi Kato (Vice President of JICA) is appointed as a member of Scientific Committee for the forthcoming Conference.

The expert group with about 20 members advises the Conference organizers on the Conference program and selection of speakers for the keynote speeches and plenary sessions, as well as the final selection for awards and medals.

GDN, starting in 1999 under the leadership of the World Bank, is a network hub to connect researchers and research institutes worldwide. Acknowledged as an international organization in 2008, it works in collaboration with 11 regional network partners. GDN-Japan is one of them, and JICA-RI hosts as its secretariat function.
