In Colombia, after a half-century civil war, the government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) signed a peace agreement in order to end armed conflicts. The peace accord consists of six points following: "comprehensive rural reform, political participation, bilateral and definitive ceasefire and cessation of hostilities and laying down of arms, solution to the problem of illicit drugs and victims, and implementation and verification mechanism." Project for Strengthening Inclusive Agricultural and Rural Development to Promote Peace Building with Legality (DRIP de PAZ) is positioned in the first point of comprehensive rural reform, and it aims to contribute to the peace in Colombia through decreasing economic gaps between urban and rural areas which is seen as a main factor causing the long civil war.
