Project Activities

The Unofficial Consultation Meeting on Roadmap for GHG Minimization in Vietnam has been jointly organized by MONRE/DMHCC and JICA SPI-NAMA on 17th March 2016. This consultative process serves to be the working platform for legalization of the Roadmap.

This kickoff national consultation had 3-fold objectives;

1. To introduce MONRE's legalization plan for developing government decree on Roadmap and Modality for GHG Minimization in Vietnam;
2. To present findings of local consultancy analytical works to supplement consultations for decree development (country experiences, potential building blocks of Roadmap)
3. To initiate stakeholder dialogue and invite views on how to best approach to decree development guided by framing questions.

The discussion session focused on the essential building blocks of the Roadmap including;

• Target setting (quantitative/qualitative)
• Timeframe
• Coverage of mitigation sectors
• Institutional arrangement and roles, and
• Topics that require further elaboration in the subsequent consultations.
