The ceremony was held at Dong Da Park on February 4, 2007, with attendance of the representatives of Hanoi People's Committee (HPC), Embassy of Japan (EOJ), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and other city' functional department and approximately 1,000 people representing Youth Union, Women's Union, Veterans and citizens in Dong Da District. The ceremony was started by the inauguration of the monument located at the intersection Thai Ha - Thai Son, followed by the speeches of the representatives. Mr. An, Vice Chairman of HPC made an address of thanks for JICA's cooperation and declared the launching of the TRAHUD Traffic Safety Month. Mr. Nakagawa, Resident Representative of JICA Vietnam Office also provided a speech expressing concern on the traffic safety in Hanoi and to promise continuous support from JICA. The ceremony was broadcasted live in Hanoi TV.
Thai Ha-Chua Moc Model project is aimed to demonstrate a comprehensive traffic safety project, not only engineering improvement but also enforcement and education programs were undertaken. Traffic Police Team 3 and Traffic Control Center were assigned for the traffic management and enforcement program for the model project.
