Tokyo Center

Established in 1985, JICA Tokyo Center (JICA Tokyo) is the largest of JICA's Domestic Offices, whose main function is to implement Knowledge Co-Creation Programs and Citizen Participation Programs mainly in Tokyo Metropolitan and five surrounding prefectures, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Nagano and Niigata.

Among more than 10,000 participants of JICA's Knowledge Co-Creation Programs accepted in Japan annually, approximately 40 percent come to JICA Tokyo's various Programs prepared in close coordination with the Government Ministries, local governments, private institutions and others.

Our Citizen Participation Programs include Development Education, Grass Roots Level Technical Assistance, Volunteer Programs, and also Capacity Development Programs for NGOs. In addition, we also assist Small and Medium-sized Enterprises' efforts to extend their business abroad.

For the Participants of these Programs, we provide accommodation in 441 bedrooms including 5 barrier free rooms, lecture rooms, meal services at our dining hall, welfare services and recreational activities, making JICA Tokyo a home away from home for all Program Participants.
