On November 18, 2019, eleven young health officials of the Cambodian Ministry of Health joined pre-departure orientation session for the Community-based Health Operation and Management Course to be conducted from 2nd to 19th December, 2019 in Japan under JICA Training Program for Young Leaders FY2019. The participants are expected to 1) acquire fundamental knowledge on community-based health system and the efforts of medical institution in Japan and 2) learn the Japanese social background in this field through on-site observation, and exchange of opinions with people concerned in the field in Japan.

Cambodia took part in this program in 1995, and more than 1,000 Cambodian young officials have been dispatched to this training program on various sectors in Japan.
